RAINBOW Centre for Women Career Counselling and Guidance

The Centre aims at capacity building and counselling of University/higher education institution’s female students and alumni; also industry workforce and social groups. This centre is developed with support of European Union under Erasmus+ Programme and with help of partner universities in the RAINBOW Research Project.

Aims:

  • To examine the influence of perceived career barriers and support young women’s career planning in the university system and outside.
  • To design and implement applicable framework(s) that intervenes and counsels’ young women of both environments.
  • Identify regulations and create awareness of best practices and models for capacity building of young women in university system and outside the university system.
  • Develop training programme for women empowerment.
  • To create a network of associates and relevant social organizations working at grass-root level which can help in reaching out to target audience and can provide necessary support in terms of sharing of resources and expertise.

 Objectives and Scope:

  • To engage with students, alumni and outside stakeholders for research, counselling and support to young women’s career planning and capacity building.
  • To develop capabilities in research and advisory in the domain.
  • To develop capabilities to offer consulting, training and courses/modules to industry, NGOs or other stakeholders.
  • To design and implement an applicable framework for outreach and partnership in the domain.
  • To create and develop awareness programmes, events, and deliver the institutional responsibilities as given by the leadership on new courses, compliance and processes.

  • Short term Training Programs for working women

  • Capacity building of teachers, staff, government officials and community members
  • Research in related areas and publications
  • Annual Conference on relevant theme
  • Programme offering/module offering on gender related issues in the University or to outside world including industry, schools, NGOs etc.
  • Compliance reports for regulatory and other bodies
  • Dealing with the issues and complaints of the university students
  • Participation in different forums in and outside the university for promotion of the purpose and dissemination of the activities of the Centre
  • Publication of material, books, reports and other works on gender mainstreaming, women empowerment etc.

 

Dr. Nina Muncherji

She is one of the founder members of the Institute of Management, Nirma University Ahmedabad, having joined the Institute in 1997. Proficient Associate Professor of Organizational Behaviour with a passion for teaching and training. Striving to teach course content by bringing innovative teaching methods, for engaging students. Demonstrated ability to connect with students and motivate them.  She has taught courses in Organizational Behaviour and Human Resource Management at Florida Atlantic University, Boca Raton, USA and also several B-Schools in India.  She has been conducting In-house training programmes for Public and Private Sector Organizations. She is a Certified Personal Profile Ananlysis (PPA) Practitioner by Thomas International Ltd. She also is CB5 Certified. She has published several research papers in journals published from India and abroad. Prof. Muncherji has also published a series of Caselets on Management in Times of India (A News Daily), Ahmedabad Edition in 2001. She has written Role Plays, Cases, Teaching Notes and Technical Notes in the area of OB & HRM which have been published by The Case Centre (ECCH), UK. She has co-edited six books.

The prime task of the CQAAD is to facilitate and participate in the development of a system for conscious and consistent improvement in the academic and administrative performance of the University. As an Assistant Director (CQAAD), NU she is primarily responsible for coordinating the CQAAD training programmes for faculty / staff / students and is also responsible for matters related to university rankings.

Dr. Amola Bhatt

She is working as an Assistant Professor in the faculty of Finance with the Institute of Management, Nirma University (IMNU), India. She is the Programme Chairperson of the Integrated BBA-MBA Programme at IMNU. A Doctorate and post-graduate in Management with majors in Finance from Gujarat University, she has a work-experience of more than fourteen years, shared between the corporate world and academics. She teaches subjects in core finance and finance specialization.  Her corporate experience enables her to provide the students with a rich mélange of management theories and relevant corporate practices. She is inclined towards research in areas of financial services, gender studies, entrepreneurial education, business ethics, and has presented several papers in Conferences and has won awards for the same. Her doctoral work helped her gain immense insight on gender equality as it comprised of studying the impact of micro-finance on women empowerment. She has over thirty publications in national and international journals to her credit. She has worked on a Minor Research Project funded by Nirma University in 2017-18.

Dr. Sapna Parashar

. Sapna Parashar is faculty in the area of Marketing and has been engaged in teaching and research from the last twenty years and has more than fifty publications in refereed journal and prominent management journals such as Journal of Cleaner Production. She has also published more than 15 cases in The Case Center, UK  and has co-edited five  books to her  credit . She has also presented papers in International and National conferences. Besides this, she has been involved in conducting training programs for reputed industries like Adani, Grasim, BPCL, Inspiron, Hitachi to name a few. She is life member for Indian Society of Training and Development. Her areas of interest include teaching and training in marketing which includes retail marketing, rural marketing, consumer behavior, service marketing and human values. She has visited China and South Korea in connection with various professional activities.

Dr. Poonam Chhaniwal

Dr. Poonam has more than 13 years of experience in academics. Her areas of interest include Talent Management, labor Laws and Generation Y in the workforce. She is reviewer of Asian Journal of Management Cases, published by Sage Publications India. She is also the recipient of ” Emerging HRD Thinkers Award”, conferred by ISTD, New Delhi. She has published research papers in international and national journals. She has also presented papers in national and international conferences.

She has also written case studies primarily on contemporary issues on Human Resource Management like role of inherent biases in Performance management, HR integration in the merger and acquisition, role of corporate culture etc.

Dr. Poonam Chhaniwal was also the chairperson of NICOM 2021 – Nirma International Conference on Management.

Prof khyati Shah

Prof. Khyati Shah is a Chartered Accountant and also holds an MBA in Finance. She has also pursued Certificate Courses on “Forensic Accounting and Fraud Detection” and “Ind-AS” offered by the Institute of Chartered Accountants, India (ICAI). She has been into academics for around a decade and has been teaching courses on Taxation, Financial Accounting and Management Accounting at the under-graduate and post-graduate level at the Institute. She has also taken sessions at the Management Development Programmes offered by the Institute. She has also been invited as a faculty for the certification programmes conducted by the Western India Regional Council of the ICAI. Currently, she is pursuing her Ph.D from Gujarat University in the area of Personal Taxation. Her research and teaching interest lies in the areas of tax planning and forensic accounting.

Mr. Jigar Barot is working as a Manager with Institute of Management, Nirma University since 2001. He has more than 32 years of experience. In prior assignments, He worked at East West Airlines, Damania Airways and Gujarat Airways in various Positions. He is handing all Executive Education Programmes like Executive Diploma Programmes, Management Development Programmes and Diploma Programme in Management at Institute of Management. In addition, he has worked on a several administrative positions. Mr. Mahesh Solanki

Mr Mahesh Solanki is a graduate from Gujarat University. He has over 25 years of work experience in Accounts and Administration Department. Before joining the Institute of Management, Nirma University, he served in Nirma Ltd.

The third consortium meeting for the EU Project-RAINBOW was held from 2nd to 4th Dec, 2019 at Nirma University, Ahmedabad, Gujarat. This meeting had discussions on project management issues and handbook, concept presentation on setting up of the Rainbow Centre and dissemination activities along with setting of milestones to be achieved.
