In the contemporary business world, an organisation’s leadership, to shape and adapt, is a key factor to survive and sustain success. The Strategy and Entrepreneurship (SME) Area at IMNU aims to develop such responsible leaders (managers and/or entrepreneurs) who are prepared and willing to master these challenges. Students are equipped with skills and knowledge to create and sustain superior competitive performance by using strategy tools and frameworks with an understanding of the process of strategy formulation and implementation.
The Area contributes to the institute’s mission and program objectives by promoting the development of an entrepreneurial mindset for its students and providing academic inputs to gain an integrated perspective on Strategy and entrepreneurship. To provide impetus to the practice of strategy and entrepreneurship, innovative pedagogies, expert guest lectures and simulations are used in the area.
Apart from the core courses, the faculty expertise is offered by way of specialisation electives covering the themes of Innovation Management, Managing Technology Change, Social Entrepreneurship, Corporate Entrepreneurship, Design Thinking, Managing Growing Organisations, Case studies of entrepreneurs etc. Most of the area courses form a foundational backbone for the MBA (Family Business and Entrepreneurship) program offered by the Institute to family business owners and prospective entrepreneurs.
