National Service Scheme (NSS)

At the Institute of Management, the students are part of the National Service Scheme (NSS) Initiative which is aimed at developing student’s personality through community service.

On September 3, 2017, team NSS-IMNU took an initiative to clean the city by the use of making and distributing paper bags to contain the spit of people who indulge in eating gutka or tobacco. The volunteers also explained to people about the long term clinical issues that are caused by consuming tobacco products.

All the NSS volunteers who have served NSS for at least two years and have performed 240 hours of work under the NSS programme are entitled to a certificate from the University. IMNU organized a seven-day NSS Special Camp in Khodiyar village. The camp was organized from December 17 to 23, 2018. The camp was attended by 40 students of BBA-MBA Integrated Programme comprising 24 boys and 16 girls. The social services undertaken during the camp included women hygiene, women empowerment, waste disposal, self-employment, banking, investment schemes ,and digitalization. Nukkad Natak, street plays, one to one conversations, group discussions with the villagers ,etc. were used to address the issues effectively. Each day at the camp was dedicated to a particular topic. A cultural night was organized on the sixth day of the camp and was attended by nearly 800 villagers. On the last day of the camp, volunteers bid a farewell to the villagers and thanked them for their support and coordination.
