Celebrating 75 Years of the Indian Constitution: A Momentous Event at the Institute of Management, Nirma University
On 26th November 2024, the National Service Scheme (NSS) of the Institute of Management, Nirma University, commemorated the 75th Constitution Day with a meaningful event that honored the cornerstone of India’s democratic journey—the Indian Constitution.
The program began with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp, symbolizing the spirit of democracy and enlightenment. The event was graced by Mr. Manish Pandya, Joint Director at the Directorate of Economics & Statistics, Government of Gujarat, as the keynote speaker. Mr. Pandya delivered an insightful address on the idea of India as a “Welfare State,” exploring critical questions about the Constitution and its relevance. He also explained the structure and functions of the government while presenting the vision and initiatives of “Viksit Bharat 2047.”
Adding depth to the event, Dr. Anup Singh, Director General of the Institute, highlighted the essence of the preamble, particularly the significance of “We, the people of India,” emphasizing the collective power and responsibility it represents.
A Public Speaking Competition followed, where students passionately expressed their dedication to preserving the soul of the Constitution and contributing to nation-building. Renab, Aayush, and Maharshi emerged as the winners, securing the first, second, and third positions respectively.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Pratham Parekh, reflecting on the importance of the Constitution and the vision of its makers.
This celebration served as a tribute to the enduring legacy of the Indian Constitution and inspired participants to uphold its principles while contributing to India’s democratic and developmental aspirations.
