She is a member of the Indian Ocean Committee, Indentured Labour Route Project, and Aapravasi Ghat Trust Fund, Mauritius. She has co-edited a book titled ‘Literature of Girmitiya: History, Culture, and Identity’ (Co-editor, Sajaudeen Chapparban) published by Palgrave Macmillan (2023). Her another edited volume on Girmitiya, Culture, and Memory was published by Palgrave Macmillan, UK (2024). She is a member of the Indian Ocean Committee, International Scientific Committee- Indentured Labour Route Project. She has organized one international Scopus-indexed conference on The Saga of Girmitiya Migration: Re-engaging the Homeland, Culture, History, and Memory (April 27-29, 2022) in collaboration with Mahatma Gandhi Institute, Moka Mauritius, UNESCO World Heritage Site; Aapravasi Ghat Trust Fund, Mauritius, ISC-ILRP, and Gathari Girmitiya Research Foundation. She received ICSSR data collection abroad award in 2017. Her research interests include migration and diaspora studies, Indenture migration, Slavery and slave narratives, gender, and migration.
