LIVING LIFE TO THE FULLEST
Life on campus for students is thrilling and exciting. The years that students spend on the campus of Institute of Management, Nirma University IM-NU are designed to be the most fulfilling years in their life. Life at the Institute is vibrant and exciting, studded with events and celebrations that enrich the students intellectually, transforming them into more complete individuals.
Fun-filled events, excursions, welcome ceremonies, farewell parties, get-togethers are organised by the students here work hard and party hard. Celebration of festivals such as Diwali, Navratri and Makar Sankranti add to bonhomie and camaraderie. The Institute also organises annual curricular events, apart from the regular events and the events organised by the students’ clubs.
Today’s budding managers must consider the world as their workplace. Keeping this in view, the Institute has been organising international conferences since 1998 to give its faculty and students an opportunity to interact with personalities and professionals of repute from all over the world.
The corporate gurus address the students to initiate them into the management world. The sessions have been christened “Conclaves”, and are conducted annually. Eminent professionals are invited to share their thoughts and experiences about the managerial strategies and concepts. It is an interface with the reality that helps students to cope with and stay ahead of change.
Every year, conclaves are held in the disciplines of Marketing, Finance, Human Resource Management, Family Business, and Information Technology.
The Institute organises an academic conference for the blossoming of managers every year, named ‘Perspective’. The conference deals with ‘perceiving what is beyond the common sight’. Reputed business schools are invited to participate in this conference. Shared learning is enhanced through activities such as paper presentations, business plan contests, business quizzes, book reviews, business cartoon contests, and panel discussions.
The Institute believes that it is its responsibility to develop the students as owner-managers right at the campus while they are still students. The students are considered as active partners in managing the Institute in its activities, conferences, training programmes, guest lectures, seminars, and cultural programmes. It is ensured that they play an active role rather than remain passive recipients. The students are thus provided an opportunity to demonstrate their management skills developed during their two years learning of MBA, in initiating and organising different co-curricular and extracurricular activities with the basic support from the Institute. This culture inculcates the spirit of independence and leadership in the students. The students get involved in these activities not merely for the learning value, but also for the pleasure that comes with the experience of a job well done. The students recognize their talents and skills in the process and get inspiration to develop themselves further.
