Every year Institute of Management, Nirma University jointly organises the Annual Conference on Quality Management during the worldwide quality month “November” with American Society for Quality (ASQ). The first such conference was held in the year 2011 with just 50 participants, which increased continuously and the 8th conference witnessed the registration of more than 400 participants from industries and academia in 2018. The theme of this year’s conference was “VUCA Challenges: Sustainability though Quality”.
American Society for Quality is world’s leading community of people passionate about Quality. It is one of the largest (not for profit) professional associations with more than 100,000 individual members and more than 1000 companies as members with a presence in 150 countries. In India, ASQ has about 1500+ members through self-directed Local Member Communities (LMC), Ahmedabad LMC is one of them!
One of the main objectives behind this conference is to spread awareness regarding best practices in the quality management arena. It provides platform for industry and academia to participate and share knowledge and hence bridge the gap. Some of the Companies participated in this conference included HDFC, Bosch Rexroth, Tata Motors, Reliance, ABB, Jyoti CNC, MMTC etc. Some other features of the conference are industry visit for half day by all participants, live case studies presentations, and body of knowledge generation.
