Ritayan – The Music & Dance Club of BBA

Ritayan – The Music & Dance Club of BBA

Ritayan – the Music and Dance Club of BBA, is a club that organizes many social and cultural events for the students to take a break from their hectic schedules and relax. Not only do they get to exhibit their musical and dancing skills in front of their peers, but also display teamwork, coordination, and work-life balance. We believe that Dance and Music are the liveliest enhancement of a youthful soul. The members of Ritayanendeavour to facilitate the development of the students as a whole and strive to provide a climate that nurtures their holistic growth.
Ranging from regular competitions among batches and batch-mates to dance workshops, Ritayan organises a variety of events to keep the creative juices flowing. It also collaborates with other clubs and committees from time to time by putting up dance and music performances at their events, among other things.

With our events, we always create an environment that is trusting and spontaneous; and encourages flexibility, celebration, and recognition.

Flagship Event – Rangtaali
Ritayan’s flagship event was a Garba night held in collaboration with Abhivyakti. Everyone celebrated Navratri with great enthusiasm. Students submitted videos of themselves performing Garba, and the student with the best performance was chosen as the winner. It was a new way to celebrate Garba, and everyone had a great time.

We had organised a ‘Garba Night’ exclusively for the BBA students of IMNU on the  October 4, 2019. We had collaborated with Abhivyakti for this event.

Spinshot – The Photography Club of IMNU had organised this event in collaboration with us. In this event students could choose any props from their stations and customise them for their photos. The whole IMNU Back Lawn was filled with various stations which had many types of props. Ritayan had organised an open mic where students sang, danced & Beat-Boxed. This event was organised on the  October 3,  2019.

Ritayan had independently organised this event for students of all the three batches of BBA. It involved music and dance performances by the participants from all the batches in the IMNU Auditorium. The crowd was very enthusiastic and so we could put forward a great show. This event was organised on the August 22, 2019.

Spic Macay (Society for the Promotion of Indian Classical Music And Culture Amongst Youth) is a non-political, nationwide, voluntary movement founded in 1977 by Dr Kiran Seth, Professor-Emeritus at IIT-Delhi who was awarded the ‘Padma Shri’ for his contribution to the arts in 2009.

Spic Macay’s intention is to enrich the quality of formal education by increasing awareness about different aspects of Indian heritage and inspiring the young mind to imbibe the values embedded in it. It seeks to inspire youth through experiencing the mysticism embodied in the rich and heterogeneous cultural tapestry of Indian and World Heritage, with a hope that the beauty, grace, values and wisdom embodied in these arts will influence their way of life and thinking and inspire one to become a better human being.

Sanjeev & Ashwani Shankar had performed at this Spic Macay event. The Shankar brothers are one of the best shehnai players of India. They have to their credit a wide spectrum of performances and have mesmerised the audiences at various music festivals. This event was organised on the April 2, 2019.

On the request of Adityavat – The Co-Curricular Committee of IMNU, We had collaborated with them to host a socials night post the AVMUN. Dance and Music Performances were a part of this event. The purpose of this evening was to get to know the delegates better and to continue their discussions in a livelier atmosphere. This event was organised on the March 2, 2019.
