irma University was one of the partner institutions in the “National Conference on Natural Farming” organised at Gujarat Institute of Development Research (GIDR, Ahmedabad) on February 24-25, 2024. Key details about the IMNU and university’s participation and contribution in the conference are as below:
The conference was graced by the presence of Dr. Anup K. Singh, Director General, NU. Dr. Anup Singh Sir gave valuable insights as an expert speaker on the panel discussion in the plenary session titled “Role of Institutions to Promote Sustainable Agriculture” on February 24, 2024.
The plenary session consisted of co-panelists such as Dr. Sunil Shukla, Director General of EDII, Ahmedabad, Dr. Deepak Pandit, BML Chair Professor – Innovation and Entrepreneurship, BML Munjal University, School of Management, Dr. Umakant Dash, Director, Institute of Rural Management Anand and Dr. Nishant Sharma, Industrial Design Centre, IIT Bombay.
Dr. Ashwini Awasthi, Director and Dean, Institute of Management, Nirma University participated in the conference as a session moderator in the plenary session titled “Marketing and Scaling up of Natural Farming” on February 25, 2024. The application of the concepts of marketing and developing the efficiency of distribution in the context of natural farming products was discussed in the session.
Dr. Samik Shome, Professor of Economics, IMNU served as a member of the conference working committee. He was the session chairperson for the technical presentation session titled “Addressing Challenges in Natural Farming: Strategies and Innovations for Sustainable Agriculture”. He was one of the authors in the paper presented at the conference. The paper title was “Transforming Indian Agriculture: Perspective on the Adoption of Natural Farming”.
Mr. Jalaj Shah and Mr. Chirayu Sharma (MBA Batch of 2022-24, IMNU) along with Ms. Vidyadhari Chandaka and Ms. Vismaya Kallidumbill (First-year Doctoral Scholars, IMNU) were part of the conference organising committee. The design work including the certificates, banners, standee, identity cards etc., and the editorial work of preparing the conference proceedings book was done by these four students. These four students have also worked in the operational part of the conference in the past two days to ensure the smooth execution of each and every session.
