Dr Nityesh Bhatt is Professor and Chairperson of Information Management Area at Institute of Management, Nirma University, Ahmedabad. He holds MBA (Marketing) & Ph.D (e-Governance) degrees from M.L. Sukhadia University, India. He has also completed a four months Faculty Development Programme (FDP) of IIM-Ahmedabad, and an online 'Internet Governance Capacity Building Programme' of DiploFoundation, Malta in year 2006. He has more than 22 years of experience in academia, corporate training and research. In 1998, he was awarded as the best faculty of NIIT in North India.
Credited with 53 research papers & management cases in peer-reviewed and indexed journals, he has also co-edited thirteen co-edited books. In year 2006, Dr. Bhatt was invited to participate in first Internet Governance Forum (IGF) meet jointly organized by United Nations – IGF Secretariat and Government of Greece at Athens. He is the recipient of ‘Dewang Mehta Best Teacher of Information Technology Award' in 2009. Four of his students have been awarded PhD. Another three students are pursuing their PhD with him. He has completed four consultancy/ research assignments for ISRO and Govt. of Kerala. Currently, he is involved in a major research project with ISRO on Government – Academia Interface. He has travelled to 10 countries for different academic initiatives. Since 2007, he is a member of the National Executive Committee of Special Interest Group on e-Governance (SIGeGov) set up by Computer Society of India. He is a life member of Computer Society of India and Indian Society for Training and Development.
He has conducted more than 300 MDPs in the area of technology and general management for leading public and private sector organisations like ONGC, IOCL, BPCL, Income Tax, SBI, Bank of Baroda, Indian Air Force, Hindustan Zinc Ltd., Sterlite, Reliance Energy, Alstom Power, Kalpataru Power Transmission, Hitachi (AC Division), Adani Group, Lafarge India, J.K. Cement, Parle, NirLife, Zydus Cadila, Cadila, Torrent, GMDC, Piramal, Pfizer, BOSCH, Inspiron, NDDB, Somani Ceramics and Asian Granito Ltd.
