Intake, Eligibility & Admission Procedure

 

Programme MBA (FBE)
General Category – 85% Seats 51
NRI / NRI Sponsored Category – 15% Seats 09
PIO/ FN/ CIWGC-SEA/SAARC 09
Total Intake (* Excluding Supernumerary Seats) 60

A three-year bachelor’s degree (10+2+3) or equivalent in any discipline from a recognised university with at least 50% aggregate marks or equivalent CGPA.

Candidates appearing in the final year of the Bachelors Degree can also apply provided they furnish the proof of meeting the minimum eligibility criteria within 3 months of them joining the programme. They should have appeared in all the examinations of their graduation by the time of commencement of the programme. The candidates failing to meet the minimum eligibility criteria will be asked to withdraw from the programme. The tuition fee paid by such candidates will be forfeited unless such vacant seats are filled by other candidates.

Online Application: 

Applicants should complete the online application form and submit the same along with a non-refundable admission processing fee of Rs.1500/- + other applicable taxes. The payment should be made online by credit/debit/net banking. Read the Admission Application Instructions carefully before filling up the form.

1. Entrance Test

The applicants are required to appear in the Entrance Test to be conducted by the Institute of Management through online mode.

2. Entrance Test Structure: 

Duration of this test will be 60 minutes and have four Sections of 10 questions each.

  • Logic & Data Interpretation
  • Quantitative Skills
  • Verbal Skills
  • General Knowledge

3. Final Selection

The final selection for admission to the programme would be based on the candidate’s performance in the Entrance Test, Personal Interview & Communication Test. The following weightage will be given to each component:

  • Entrance Test: 60%
  • Personal Interview & Communication Test: 30%
  • Past Academic Performance: 10%

An additional score of 5 points shall be given for the candidates who belong to Business Families.

*While computing the score of the Academic Performance, the marks obtained in SSC, HSC and Graduation shall be taken into account with 20% weightage for SSC marks, 30% weightage for HSC marks, 50% weightage for graduation marks (only the aggregate marks obtained in the examinations upto pre-final year will be considered for computing the merit, for example in case of a 3 year degree programme first and second year examinations? marks will be counted and in case a four year degree programme first, second and third year examinations’ marks will be counted).

Cost of boarding, books, reading material, handouts, printouts, electricity use in the hostel room etc. will be charged separately as per the actuals.

Candidate applying under categories such  NRI/NRI Sponsored/Foreign students/Person of Indian origin holding foreign passport/Gulf Countries and South East Asia candidates should make a non-refundable admission processing fee of Rs. 6000/- or US $135. The payment should be made online by credit card/debit card/net banking.

15% of total seats in each program being conducted at the constituent institutes of Nirma University, is available for admission to International Students under the Supernumerary categories like Children of Indian Workers in Gulf Countries and South East Asia (CIWGC-SEA), Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) and Foreign Nationals (FN); out of which one-third i.e 5% seats are earmarked for CIWGC-SEA and 10% for OCI/FN. If the OCI/FN is not filled, the quota is available to CIWGC-SEA.

Categories for International Students

A) Children of Indian Workers in Gulf Countries and South East Asia (CIWGC-SEA)
The candidates whose parents are working in Gulf countries or South East Asia are eligible under this category.

B) Overseas Citizen of India (OCI)
The persons who are citizens of other countries (except Pakistan and Bangladesh) who at any time held an Indian Passport, or who or either of his parents or any of his grandparents was a citizen of India by virtue of the provisions of the Constitution of India or Sec 2 (b) of Citizenship Act, 1955 (Act No. 57 of 1955) are eligible under this category. Overseas Citizens of India (OCI) are considered under this category. Earlier OCIs were called PIOs.

C) Foreign Nationals (FN)
The citizens of all countries other than India, who are not of Indian origin as defined under PIO are eligible under this category. This category includes SAARC countries also.
