Dr. Nityesh Bhatt is Professor and Chairperson of Information Management Area. Since Dec. 2021, he has been recognized as Nirma Limited Chair Professor in Management for three years. He holds MBA (Marketing) & Ph.D (e-Governance) degrees from M.L. Sukhadia University, India. He has completed a four month FDP of IIM-Ahmedabad, and an online 'Internet Governance Capacity Building Programme' of DiploFoundation, Malta in year 2006. He has more than 24 years of experience in academia and corporate training. In 1998, he was awarded the best faculty of NIIT in North India. Credited with 67 papers & cases in reputed journals (including 14 in ABDC and Scopus), he has co-edited 14 books. In 2006, he was invited to participate in the first Internet Governance Forum meet jointly organized by United Nations - IGF Secretariat and the Government of Greece at Athens. He is the recipient of 'Dewang Mehta Best Teacher of Information Technology Award' in 2009. Four of his students have been awarded PhD, with one more student currently pursuing Ph.D. under his guidance. He has completed four consultancy/ research assignments for ISRO and Govt. of Kerala, including a major project with ISRO in the area of 'Scientific Research Management'.
Currently, he is part of a European Commission Project 'Knowledge Development for Circular Economy Transition' (Erasmus+ Programme). He has traveled to 14 countries for different initiatives. Since 2007, he is a member of the National Committee on e-Governance, set up by Computer Society of India (CSI). He is a life member of CSI and Indian Society for Training and Development. He has conducted more than 300 MDPs in the area of technology and general management for leading organisations like ONGC, IOCL, Income Tax, SBI, Indian Air Force, Sterlite, Reliance Energy, Alstom Power, Hitachi (AC Division), Adani Group, Lafarge India, J.K. Cement, Parle, NirLife, Zydus Cadila, Torrent, GMDC, Piramal, Pfizer, BOSCH, Inspiron, NDDB, Somani Ceramics and AGL. His inputs are regularly featured in IT magazines like Computer Weekly, Dataquest and Voice&Data.
